I'm writing to tell you about an organization called May
First/People Link. They are an organization that provides 
tools such as websites, maillists, email, etc. But they are 
really about much more and I want to share that with you 
briefly and ask that you join.

May First/People Link isn't a normal Internet provider or 
company. It's a social justice organization made up of people 
who use the Internet in their movement work. It's part of the 
movement and as such it participates in coalitions, provides all
kinds of Internet support and is centrally involved in some of 
the major issues our movement faces on the Internet -- like the
fight over access and the battle against email blocking.

Those politics affect how MF/PL approaches the services all our 
members enjoy. Not only are the services and support at MF/PL 
equal to any out there but, in some cases, they are far superior.
Members are supported seriously, respectfully and thoroughly. 
Staff thinks  about individual member Internet needs and works
with members to meet  them. And being part of a progressive 
organization like this gives us access to other organizations and
activists who are in the leadership of the movements taking on 
the issues we are all concerned about.

I want to encourage you to visit the May First/People Link 
website at http://www.mayfirst.org and take a look at what the 
organization is about. And I want to make one final point: If 
you are paying a commercial provider for your service, doesn't 
it make sense to use that money to support another movement 
organization AND get even better service in exchange?
